Camping in Spain: The Best Sites and How to Get There

One of my dreams is to go to Spain and visit the country that is so legendary, literature is filled with anything Spanish, the architecture, the mountains; the list goes on and on.
Going on a tour is not even remotely idealistic as this just touch on areas that are the tourist hubs and are popular because that is where the tourists go. But what about those areas that are not so popular, and yet represents the Spanish land, life and culture?
One of the best sites to discover and experience is the Pyrenese mountain region , where the Basques dwell and the culture has remained untouched. Do you know that the Basque people have their own language? And that their language can be traced all the way back to the time of Ham, one of Noah’s sons? Yes, Noah’s Ark! That’s just part of the trivia that you will discover while in Spain.
How about trekking through the Pocos de Europa , or The Alpujarras, Sendero Rio Borosa , etc. I bet that your Spanish guides have not even set foot on those mountains themselves. And don’t worry; there are hotels if you are really anxious about getting kidnapped simply because you are a tourist. But isn’t that what hiking and trekking is all about? Getting to know the area from the inside out, not just through a looking glass that is provided to you by your travelling tour?
Having a good map is the most practical equipment that you can have, aside from the compass and back pack. Learning to speak Spanish also helps, get a course like Rocket Spanish for a quick start. You wouldn’t want to get lost simply because you don’t know the Spanish words for left and right now, do you?
Trekking through Spain is a wondrous experience and may sound really romantic. But it is hard work. You have to be extra careful and you have to have the guts to face unwanted difficulties that may just come about. Have a fantastic time and don’t lose that map! ......... or dictionary!
